Terms of use

The short version: use Oritavo for honest assessment, respect other people's data, and don't attack the service.

Your account

You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials to yourself. Instructors are responsible for the content of the assessments they author and for using integrity signals (like tab-switch counts) fairly and in line with their institution's policies.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to bypass integrity controls, probe or overload the service, access data that isn't yours, or use Oritavo to store unlawful content. Automated brute-forcing of answers is both detected and a violation of these terms.

Material you upload

You're responsible for having the right to upload and use whatever you add as study material — documents, images, and recordings alike. That matters most for audio and video: if a recording captures anyone other than you, obtaining any consent required to record and use it is your responsibility, not Oritavo's. Consent rules for recording differ by jurisdiction, and some schools and employers impose their own on top. Oritavo processes a file you already have; it isn't the tool that made the recording, and uploading one isn't a representation by us that it was lawfully made.

Recordings are transcribed and then the original file is deleted — only the transcript is kept. For video, only the audio is used; the picture is never analysed or stored. Don't upload recordings you don't have the right to use, or that you've been asked not to share.

AI-generated content

Questions drafted from your study materials are a starting point, not a guarantee — Oritavo doesn't warrant their factual accuracy, and you're responsible for reviewing a question before accepting it, just as you would any draft. Only questions you've reviewed and marked ready should be promoted into a graded assessment or shown to a student.

Subscriptions and billing

Pro is billed monthly and can be cancelled any time from Settings; cancelling keeps Pro access through the period you've already paid for. Institution plans are arranged directly and granted manually. Real payment processing runs through Stripe once configured; until then, upgrading may use a clearly labeled placeholder checkout that activates the plan without collecting or charging a real card.

Service

Oritavo is provided as-is while in active development. We work hard to protect scheduled exams, but you should keep local copies of question banks you can't afford to lose (the CSV export/import round-trips cleanly for exactly this reason). We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-app.
